Hi there and thank you for the reply,

I have uninstalled 1.8.1 and installed 1.7.2 on a number of nodes and can confirm that it fixes the issue. That is; with 1.8.1 if I click 'force immediate check for host and all services' I get a high return of 'unknown' in the status information column, whilst with 1.7.2 I perform the same action and all results are returned.

Is 1.7.2 considered a stable release that I should use across the board? Is there a change log for NCPA ?

Thanks, Matthew

You can submit issues you find with NCPA here:

https://github.com/NagiosEnterprises/ncpa/

Here is the change log:

https://github.com/NagiosEnterprises/nc ... HANGES.rst

You might try using 1.8.0 and see if you still get those errors as well:

https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/ncp ... -1.8.0.exe

Those were considered stable enough at the time of release, you may hit bugs in any release, this is the first time I've seen the bug you are seeing.

My recommendation would be to setup multiple different agents (NCPA, NSClient++), test them to see if they meet your needs (on the different OSes you are going to monitor), and then decide what meets your requirements the best.

Please take a look at this response on this issue. It has been resolved but not in the agent itself but with check_ncpa.py
