Support for apache authentication modules

Post by antonionc »

I am looking at the option of using an authentication module from apache to authenticate user s in Nagios XI.

I am looking at mod_auth_openidc (https://github.com/pingidentity/mod_auth_openidc/wiki). This will authenticate the user using OpenID Connect and send to nagios XI the authenticated user in the REMOTE_USER environment.

There must be a Nagios XI user with the same username.

Would this set-up be supported?

Thanks in advance

I would recommend you take a snapshot before you do anything that could potentially do damage. The answer is yes and no. We cannot support you in the setup of what you're trying to do, nor can we support any issues that may arise from it. With that being said, if you're running into issues with Nagios after you do this configuration, we will do our best to troubleshoot it, unless your modifications bring it to a point where we no longer can.
