CRITICAL - Socket timeout after 30 seconds

Hello,
I am new to nagios and is seeing its potential in IT monitoring.

I have a site that works fine and is even replying to ICMP request. Now, this internal site is throwing "CRITICAL - Socket timeout after 30 seconds" alarm. Why would a monitoring raise this kind of alarm when the site is working fine and healthy? I mean, what should I be checking on the site?

Are these sites being monitored via the NSClient++ or NRPE agent? That error is usually specific to one of those agents. Can you share which version of NSClient or NRPE the remote machine is using?
