Morning
How do I completely disable and inherited service on a particular host?.
Thanks
Disable inherited service
Re: Disable inherited service
You can easily deactivate a service under the Core Config Manager in Nagios XI. Simply click on the "Yes" under the "Active" column ("Deactivate"). You can check for dependent relationships (whether or not the service can be deleted/deactivated) by clicking on the "Relationship Info" button next to the service.

Re: Disable inherited service
Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear.
I have a template with a few services, this template is inherited by a whole bunch of servers. The issue is i need to disable a few of these services from specific servers without affecting every server that inherits the service via the template.
Thanks for th response.

Re: Disable inherited service
Can you show us an example configs of this template, and hosts or services it is attached to?

Re: Disable inherited service
I'm not sure how to do that, I have found an identical post to mine from a while back though, but the final response seems wrong to me.

since what is suggested here would delete the service completely and thus remove it from the template and from all inheriting hosts.

Re: Disable inherited service
You can go to CCM, click on "Hosts", "Services", "Host Templates", "Service Templates", etc., then click on the "View config" actions button (the diskette icon) next to the object, to view the configuration file.I'm not sure how to do that...
In order to help you out, we need to view all of the relevant configs. Thank you!
