Mass modify service templates (or default template)

Post by Unigarant »

Hi,

I want to change the default template applied to services so that it does _not_ send notifications.
As far as I can tell there is no bulk modification to change the services template themselfs? I have changed a lot of them, but every time a Windows server (for instance) is added it still used the xi_24×7 time period. Maybe I missed the template used, but setting them all to none is not really what I want....

Can anyone tell me how I can achieve that the default notification period for newly created services is set to none? (I do not want to change the XI notification period itself if I can avoid it.)

Can you show us the host + service definition for one that this is affecting? It really depends on how these were created, and what templates are being applied.

Clicking the 'Relationships' button from the 'Service Templates' page in the CCM is pretty helpful for digging in. I believe most of the wizards end up relying on xiwizard_generic_service if that's what you're after.

Just checking in since we have not heard from you in a while. Did @rkennedy's post clear things up?
