What linux distribution are you using,centos or ubuntu? RHEL 7

It seems you don't have SSL installed and enabled? Do you? I don't think I do and I tried to do it but can't.


define service{
use generic-service ; Name of service template to use
host_name xxx.xxx.com
service_description HTTPS
check_command check_http
notifications_enabled 0
}

So I changed it to this but how do you make it so check_http -H <your address> -S runs but doesn't affect my other setups which use check_http
