User API Access

Post by spcmidrange »

Good Morning

I was asked today to setup a new user that has access to the API. I do not see that option when i go to create a user. I am using Nagios XI version 5.2.5

Is it in a later version? Is there something i need to enable to get this option to appear?

Thank you for your help

Cheers!

When you create a user in XI 5.2.5, the user is assigned an API key. You can view the key by logging in (or masquerading in) as this user, and clicking on the username in the upper right corner. This is a very old version of XI. If you need to be able to reset API keys for users, when you are logged in as nagiosadmin, you would need to upgrade XI. I would recommend upgrading to the latest version.

Note: You could be able to use the backend ticket by going to:

Admin > Manage Components > Backend API URL > User = your user > Apply Settings
even though, this feature is being deprecated.

Look at the end part of any of the commands to find the ticket. Example:

Code: Select all
