Operations Screen

Post by gregwhite »

Our NOC is using the Operations Screen to monitor our enterprise. We monitor the main data center and about 55 sites where there are health centers. Recently the NOC has become the status center for these sites. What this means is that they are looking to Nagios for status if any of these sites goes down and when they are back up. During our last Northeaster there was a couple of sites down displaying about 30 devices down. However, when these hosts go into fixed downtime for a period of time at night they clear causing the NOC to assume they have recovered. Is there a way to have the Operation Screen not clear a host when going into scheduled downtime if the host is already down?

There is an option, on the bottom of the Operations Screen page (Show/Hide Handled). If it is set to show the hanled problems, your host would not clear off the screen.

Thank you. I see the need for both views as I think it through. Glad you offer both views. The Operations Center - does it clear acknowledged alerts?

Thanks,
Greg

@gregwhite, I believe you can apply the "Hide Notifications Disabled" filter.
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.
