Dashboard Blank :(

Post by Britts »

Hi,

Please can anyone help/advise, we are currently reviewing Nagios XI on a 60 day Trial, I have setup the Nagios Client, on CentOS 7, I can browse to the url http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/nagiosxi, I have setup Monitoring for a couple of desktops and a Server to test console, I have created a user to deploy a Dashboard too, and deployed the Dashboard to that user, but when I got to Dashboard it is Blank, Nothing.......

Please can anyone point out what I am sure is a common mistake, on my behalf :(

Hello, @Britts. What kind of dashlets did you add to the dashboard? And what kind of user did you deploy this dashboard to? An administrator or a regular user? If a user is not authorized to see hosts and services reflected on the dashboard he will also not see the dashlets.

Thanks for coming back to me npolovenko.

I have been doing some more reading on Dashboards and Dashlets, and I now have a Dashboard, I did not know how to get the dashlet to the Dashboard, d'oh.

The use is Admin, as this will be going up as wall board status monitor, so should not be touched too often and the user can now see the dashlet I set.

All I have to do now is find a Dashboard that will give me the status of the Servers Resources as percentages, and open the ports :)

Thanks Again :)

@Britts, No problem. There is a "Server Stats" dashlet that you can use. This is a standard dashlet, all you need to do is click on Available Dashlets and add it to your dashboard.
I don't think there is a dashlet that shows open ports on the XI server. You could create a service check for that instead.
