Problems with update to 5.5.0

I saw the same behavior after performing the 5.5.0 upgrade. However, in our case it broke our check_iis_apppool_state plugin.

This is what we see now:

Also, in the CCM -> Monitoring -> Services there is a "Changes detected! Apply Configuration for new changes to take effect" message that won't go away no matter how many times I click the Apply Configuration button.
