Backup limit

Post by CJIndustries »

I have the ssh backup set and working fine. The user has permission to add and delete the old backups. The backup limits are not working. They just keep on adding up. The logs say the backup was successful with not errors. I recently upgraded to 5.5 and everything is running smoothly. Any thoughts on why the old backups are not getting deleted?

Hello, @CJIndustries. Did you start having this problem in XI 5.5 only? Can you take a screenshot of your backup settings in GUI, and run:

Code: Select all

ls -la
Inside the backup directory on the remote server to check the permissions.

I've had this problem before 5.5. I attached a screenshot of the settings in the gui and the permissions on the backup folder.

Sigh.... yup, mine is doing this too. Local backups, limit set to 2. There are currently 3 in there, and I deleted a third one last week too, so it's not following the limits.
For me at least, the limits worked before 5.5, as I never manually deleted them, it always stayed at 2.

@CJIndustries, I could replicate this behavior when storing backups on the remote server. Our developers should come up with a fix shortly. Feel free to send me a personal message in a few days to get an update on this!
