5.5 passive check issue also sending down alerts!

Post by dfmco »

So we are getting a MASSIVE amount of false alerts from traps (along with the recovery). Can we roll back to 5.4 by doing a simple restore or are we looking at something more involved? I have many Nagios systems that were upgraded.

Every trap for Pflugerville, Marble Falls and Blanco in this attachment were ABSOLUTELY FALSE. I have verified with sniffer traces that none of these alerts were sent by the routers!

Now, each of these sites did have a REAL outage several days ago but have been running 100% clear since the 8th of July. It seems that Nagios is re-sending old alerts with current time stamps.

Yes, just a restore from backup should work fine

Just as a FYI, this problem is a known issue and will be resolved in 5.5.1 due out in the next few days
