How do I mass change Services?
How do I mass change Services?
I have about 1200 services that I need to update the check interval on. I really don't want to delete and redefine with the bulk import wizard. Is there a way to do a mass change?
Re: How do I mass change Services?
You can accomplish this via the Bulk Modifications Tool, which is part of Nagios XI Enterprise Edition.
I would recommend that you do this in batches of no more than 500 services. Try changing a couple of services first to see how it works. After saving changes you would need to apply configuration.

I am assuming these are under the Tools option in the title bar of Nagios XI. I have nothing there! I see where I can add one but how do I now the URL from which I need to download?
Re: How do I mass change Services?
What is the version of Nagios XI that you are currently using?
Do you have the "Enterprise Features" enabled? You can check this out by going to Admin > License Information.
To access the Bulk Mod Tool, go to Configure > Core Config Manager, then click on Bulk Modifications Tool under the Tools menu on the left.

Re: How do I mass change Services?
We have Nagios XI v5.4.9
I did find the bulk mod tool under Configure tab in the CCM. I'll have to play with this a little on our test system.
We do have the features box checked. See screen print.

Re: How do I mass change Services?
Another way would be to use mass update to clear all the check intervals, then use a template to set it up. That would streamline things for you in the future.

Thanks, have not had a chance to look into templates yet.

You can review our Nagios Core documentation on object inheritance with templates here:
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... tance.html
It applies to Nagios XI as well.
