Update on flapping notification suppression

Post by fasterfourier »

We have a configuration in which several services have a dependency configured. This service dependency properly suppresses notifications for warning, critical, and recovery alerts. However, flapping notifications are still sent even if the service dependency indicates that they should be suppressed. This issue appears to be tracked here:

https://github.com/NagiosEnterprises/na ... issues/477

Does anyone have any additional info on when this bugfix will be applied, and if there are any workarounds or patches available for use now? We are running Nagios Core 4.3.4 currently (due to bugs in 4.4.2 that are keeping us from using that version).

Hello, @fasterfourier. According to GiHub this bug fix should be added in Core 5.0.0

Hi @npolovenko

Do you have any estimate for when core 5.0.0 will be released?

@fasterfourier, Unfortunately, I don't have that info yet. But here's the link to track any updates on Core releases:
Also, you could communicate with the developers directly on GitHub(on the issue's page). If a lot of people will inquire on this fix devs will put it up in their queue.
