NCPA - Agent Passive Service/ Encrypted

Post by charlie126 »

hi,

I am using check_ncpa.py - Active Checks, would it be best practice to disable the 'NCPA Passive - ncpapassive' service on the Windows Servers. Is there any added value in leaving this service running by default?

Also am i correct in saying that when using check_ncpa.py to perform Active Checks, the communication is TLSv1.2 encrypted by default?

Thanks

If NCPA isn't sending any passive checks then the passive service can be disabled.

Yes, it does TLSv.12 by default. In the ncpa.cfg you'll see:

ssl_version = TLSv1_2
