Hello, I'm running v5.5.6, 64-bit, VM, CentOS 7.
I have users that find more Hostgroups in the Hostgroups summaries then they are used to, under Nagios v3.
They think that not registering the hostgroup, under Nagios 3, kept a hostgroup off the display. I
see no option to register or deregister a host group.
Can a dashboard be set up with a persons favorite host groups displayed?

Re: Hostgroup display questions
Hi @Bitflogger,
In Nagios XI, for the default users settings, they can only see hosts/services or host groups/service groups that they are a member of. The easiest way to modify these settings are to use the bulk modification tool (https://support.nagios.com/kb/article/n ... l-733.html). Go to Configure > CCM > Bulk Modification Tool > Add or Remove Contact.
Once has this been configured for your setup, they use can create new views and add corresponding dashlets for hostgroup and services data (https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... -Views.pdf).
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello,
They are System Administrators. Currently their role is as a User, with every box checked. They have different systems but back up each other when someone is out sick, on vacation, or otherwise unavailable.

Re: Hostgroup display questions
HI @Earl,
I think we have two separate issues here. One is how to organize the service/host information for various users. and the other is the possibility of issues with hostgroup summaries.

Can you provide more specifics such as screen shots or other details to help identify the problem?I have users that find more Hostgroups in the Hostgroups summaries then they are used to, under Nagios v3.
Go to Dashboards > Add Dashlets, and you'll find the available dashlets for displaying information. There are more dashlets available on the Nagios Exchange, while there isnt' a dashlet for displaying hostgroups there is a dashlet available for displaying service groups. Can a dashboard be set up with a persons favorite host groups displayed?
