A: Resolved status alerts. B: Importing data-file

Post by HalimaDiallo »

Hi

A:
How do I net up my notifications on nagiosxi to where I can get (automatic) email notifications when issues/tickets gets resolved ?

B:
How can I import data-file into nagiosxi without having to manually input thousands of hosts and services( I am trying to switch monitoring software from NetGong to Nagiosxi.

Thanks for the help in advance ! <3

A: XI typically sends out recovery emails to let you know that a host or service's problem has been fixed. For this to work, users accounts must be configured to send recover emails. https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf covers how to set up user's notifications settings. It is also necessary that the service check is configured to send recovery notifications. This is usually set by default in a template, but to disable/enable notifications on a per service level, you'll need to modify the service's alert settings - see page 6 of https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... gement.pdf.

B: I would recommend setting up a typical host so that XI is able to monitor and pull the information you want from, and then use the bulk cloning tool to set up similar hosts. See https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... Wizard.pdf.

There is also the auto discovery tool which can be helpful in importing new hosts and services: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf
