OS upgrade on Nagios servers

Post by RIDS_I2MP »

Hello Team,

Our Nagios XI servers are running running in Centos 6.4. As per our application requirement, we need to upgrade them to latest RHEL 7.6.

Our current Nagios XI version is 5.6.2.

Please let us know if there is any compatibility issue if we upgrade the OS to latest RHEL 7.6.

Thanks in advance!!
Thanks & Regards,
I2MP Team.

This is definitely doable. I would recommend that you backup your system prior to the OS upgrade. After the OS upgrade is complete, you can restore Nagios XI from the backup. Please, review the Changed Operating System Version / Architecture / Family section in our Backing Up And Restoring Your Nagios XI System document here (page 12):

Note: Prior to upgrading the OS, make sure your backup is "good", and you can restore to it. If this is a VM, create a snapshot just in case something goes wrong, and you want to restore the old system.
