Inbound Mail Setup issues

Post by Fred Kroeger »

Trying to set-up the Inbound Mail on NagiosXI5.6.2 to an email account on Office365
The settings I've been given are

Code: Select all

» IMAP fetching

To fetch mail from Office365 server using IMAP protocol instead, enter these details:

IMAP Host: outlook.office365.com
IMAP Port: 993
Encryption: SSL
IMAP Username: (your Office365 username)
IMAP Password: (your Office365 password)
Nagios defaults to Port 143 and is greyed out, so it won't let me change it to 993.

I tried to Test the connection with my username & password anyway and get the following error message
C

Code: Select all

ould not connect with the inbound settings given.
Can't open mailbox {outlook.office365.com:/imap/ssl}INBOX: invalid remote specification

Regards... Fred

Hi Fred,

Are you sure you're not able to enter a new port number? I've been testing this and it's working as expected in both Chrome and Firefox. If not, can you upload a screen shot of your settings?

Try refreshing the pages and then enter all the settings, then select the Update Settings button and lastly test the connection.

Thanks.

Thanks for checking this. Yes you're correct , it does work - I didn't try hard enough.Usually I just highlight the old entry and enter the value required. Because the port number is greyed out, I couldn't highlight it. I never then tried to just enter the number. Doh !
Sorry about that and thanks again.
