Switch monitoring ports refresh

Post by user1234 »

Hello.

I monitor switch let say Cisco 24 ports, but only 10ports was in use when switch was added to nagios.
In meantine 4ports were configured on switch, but they dont appear in nagios.
How just refresh configured switch to add newly configured ports?
I have to add switch again to nagios and again set metrics to all ports?

Same question just for changed port description - they dont refresh in nagios.

I have many switches and changes occurs frequently.

For activated ports I would just re-run the wizard

this is a little different because if you are using the port description as the service description in nagios this is more difficult to change and keep historical data, it would be best if you can use the port numbers instead of description and nothing would need to change, however if this is not an option you would want to make the change using the bulk rename tool which will change the name of the service and all the associated performance data files
