I think my nagios is broken

Post by deano153 »

late last week we had a RAID malfunction on our storage that holds our VM's. This included our Nagios XI VM.

Since we recovered last Friday, we have not seen any notifications from nagios and there is no state history being displayed on the Birdseye page.

I purposely turned off one of my monitored servers, waited for it to show up on my Birdseye page as being down, but still no email alert and nothing in the state history.

Thank you,
Gale Price

so an update to this if it helps...

I followed the instructions to repair the database.

I found these errors:
myisamchk: error: 'nagios_statehistory' is not a MyISAM-table
myisamchk: error: 'nagios_systemcommands' is not a MyISAM-table
myisamchk: error: 'xi_events' is not a MyISAM-table

So I continued in the same database repair document regarding MyISAM tables...
when I did that part I got these errors.

nagios.nagios_statehistory
Error : Incorrect file format 'nagios_statehistory'
error : Corrupt
nagios.nagios_systemcommands
Error : Incorrect file format 'nagios_systemcommands'
error : Corrupt
nagiosxi.xi_events
Error : Incorrect file format 'xi_events'
error : Corrupt

Any suggestions?

Update... fixed...
I found the Emergency Restore section here and that looks like it fixed it.
