I am not sure when this occurred between upgrades or database issues but some of my collegues have noticed that the host name now has either an Alias description next to the name of the host under Details --> Host Status or it has the Alias name of the associated server template it was built with. For the latter the Alias field is blank in CCM host management.
servername (servername - server info type Application Server - page these people when down 888888)
or
servername (Production server Template)
Any idea what may have happened?

If you set an alias on a service template and not on the service the template value will be used and the alias is displayed if it is present in XI
Re: info in parenthesis next to host names
Is there a way to not show the alias on the host status page?

No, the alias is always displayed if it is set unless the alias matches the host name.emartine wrote:Is there a way to not show the alias on the host status page?
Re: info in parenthesis next to host names
It would be really nice if this was a toggle, I don't like the new display format.
I have my hosts set up with short names for the host name, IP for the address, and the FQDN for the alias. I need the alias the for reference, but I don't ever need or want to see it displayed. Can this be a feature request for the next version?
