MSSQL services monitoring on clustered servers

Post by RIDS_I2MP »

Hi Team,

We are currently monitoring MSSQL services on SQL servers. We have few servers which are clustered servers like at a time one instace would be up and other would be stand-by.

We have a cluster of 3 servers and MSSQL services are being monitored on one server, other 2 servers are stand-by.

The issue is, at the time of failover, the other server will come UP and this server(on which currently MSSQL services are monitored) will become stand-by.

So we want MSSQL services to get monitored on that server after failover.

Can you please help us on it?
Thanks & Regards,
I2MP Team.

If I'm understanding what you're asking for, you're looking to monitor stats on whatever SQL Server happens to be running as the primary. If that's correct, then I would just point Nagios at the VIP that all of your client machines get pointed at. Is that what you're looking to accomplish?
