Ghost hosts - low importance

Post by Bitflogger »

Hello,

I'm running v5.6.9 on a 64-bit CentOS VM.

When use a URL like this:

Code: Select all

https://**********/nagiosxi/includes/components/xicore/status.php?show=hostdetail&hoststatustypes=15&host=*************
A previously deleted host comes up like:

Status Details
Host State: Pending
Duration: N/A
Host Stability: Changing
Current Check: of
Last Check: Never
Next Check: Not scheduled
Host Notes:

Host notifications are disabled
Host notifications are disabled

A bogus host name comes up as "Object not found"

Is this anything to be worried about?

Yes, this is because the stubs are still in the database, but just marked not active.

The primary reason for this is that you may choose to remove a host/service and then add it back at a later time.

It is all part of how the database connection between nagios/ndo2db works when you restart nagios.
