What is the procedure for routing alerts from Nagios XI to Nagios Log server.

Since Nagios Log Server is designed to ingest logs, I recommend that you configure XI as a new source in Log Server and monitor logs that contain information about alerts.
I believe that every alert within Nagios should be recorded in the Event Log in XI as well as the nagios.log on your server. Navigate to Reports using the top bar of XI > click Event Log under Available Reports on the left pane > to see alerts, notifications, and other events.
