LO Agentless Management (HPE ProLiant Server) on CentOS8

Post by chillit »

Hi Team,

I've just upgraded to CentOS8 (from CentOS6) most things have been working as intended except for the Nagios Plug-in for iLO Agentless Management (HPE ProLiant Server) - it doesn't seem to be compatible with CentOS8

When I attempt to install the RHEL7 version I get the error below - CentOS8 runs libnetsnmp.so.35 - is there a way to make this compatible - or can I possibly use another host running CentOS7 to run a remote command somehow?

(I don't want to downgrade to CentOS7 if I can help it).

Code: Select all

[root@nagios tmp]# rpm -i nagios-plugins-hpeilo-1.5.1-156.4.rhel7.x86_64.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libnetsnmp.so.31()(64bit) is needed by nagios-plugins-hpeilo-1.5.1-156.4.rhel7.x86_64

Hi chillit,
The CentOS 8 life cycle has been cut short with the news of its EOL in December 2021.
RHEL revealed it would be shifting focus from CentOS Linux to CentOS Stream.
Most CentOS users who have updated their systems to the latest version have already expressed their concerns.
While CentOS 8 EOL is scheduled for 2021, CentOS 7 will be supported until 2024.
Therefore, if you haven’t gotten the chance to upgrade your CentOS 7 servers, don’t bother doing so.

Also, I was not able to find "nagios-plugins-hpeilo" for CentOS 8 on the Nagios Community Exchange, I would suggest that you downgrade to CentOS 7 to save you from doing it again at the end of this year.

Regards,
Vinh
