Confused about cfg files for nagiosql

Post by dhlao »

I'm new to Nagios. After finished the installation of Nagios, I go on to set up NagiosQL. I've referenced many online tutorials and almost all of them mentioned that we need to change the original path of "cfg_file" to point to the folder of nagiosql (inside nagios.cfg).
I'm curious how this works as those *.cfg files won't automatically be created in or copied/moved to nagiosql folder. Without those files in the new path, there's no way to pass nagios check. None of the tutorials have mentioned about this.

Hi,

Welcome to the Nagiso Community Forum!
. I've referenced many online tutorials and almost all of them mentioned that we need to change the original path of "cfg_file" to point to the folder of nagiosql (inside nagios.cfg).
Can you provide a link to which tutorials you are using. Honestly, not super familiar with installing and configuring Nagiosql with Core since we are using Nagios XI in support, but I'll take a look for you.

Regards,
Benjamin

Thanks benjamin. I finally discovered that myself. I need to click "Write config files" in each of the category in order to generate the cfg files.
