Manual Installation Nagios xi on RH

Post by diegosiassb »

Hello I have two systems nagios active now my company decided to buy nagios xi but I have trouble installing the software on Red Hat

I thought that buying manually install the nagios xi would have had less difficulty installing
Installation on Red Hat requires Internet access and having a proxy server can not pass

Come mai non è stato fatto un pacchetto all inclusive ?

Come posso fare a installare manualmente senza diventare pazzo nagios xi ?

thanks a lot

Ok

ok I managed to solve the problem proxy.
I am connected with the Red Hat website yum update the system, and sure it is configured correctly
Now launching ................

[root@nagiosxi nagiosxi]# ./0-yum
Installing Dag repo...
Enabling EPEL repo...
Retrieving http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/e ... noarch.rpm
error: skipping http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/e ... noarch.rpm - transfer failed - Unknown or unexpected error

Why ?

Thanks

Well, if you're firewalled from download.fedora.redhat.com it won't be able to download that file either. It looks like you still have some pieces remaining in configuring your proxy then. The installation process requires access to a couple of different sites & repositories to get all of the different things yum needs.

What happens when you try to wget http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/e ... noarch.rpm directly? The results of that should lead you to the answer for what happens when running the script as well.

When it comes to issues or problems related to Operating System configuration we are just not equipped to assist.

Contact RedHat for support using yum and the error "transfer failed - Unknown or unexpected error". Also contact DAG with assistance with regard to Firewall settings.

You don't need to use DAG, any where you can get the required pkgs would be fine if that's what RedHat suggests.

You may open another thread for this, but I feel this is something better left explained by our FAQ. There is nothing in the FAQ currently.

Essentially the name of the file you upload is used in conjunction with the service description to identify the "service object" in CCM. This is because each "service object" may have any number of instances and thus does not belong to any given host.

If you had one large file of services it's likely some of them would have similar descriptions, this is not an error or even a warning(other then the one I'm giving now). These are silently added and afterwards the only way to tell them apart is to look at there settings.

Read our import documentation for a script that will 'sanities' your configuration.
