SDA2 Disk has lost it's Settings

Post by wbright »

Good afternoon Nagios Support

I have a stand alone Centos 7 Server with Nagios Log Server 2.1.13 installed running PHP 7.4 on a Hyper-V Cluster Host
After it was moved from Node 1 to Node 2 the server rebooted and would not load.
We have managed to mount all of the disks except SDA2, and the syslog server is running with, receiving logs, archiving and running application backups
When I do a check of the disks for SDA2 I get /dev/sda2: PTTYPE="dos"
on another Syslog server that is in a similar environment I get
/dev/sda2: UUID="DmzF9I-YIIw-VGW7-UsJC-OsfN-eOrx-6NSXON" TYPE="LVM2_member"
DF -h looks fine
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
devtmpfs 7.8G 0 7.8G 0% /dev
tmpfs 7.8G 0 7.8G 0% /dev/shm
tmpfs 7.8G 17M 7.8G 1% /run
tmpfs 7.8G 0 7.8G 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
/dev/mapper/centos-root 490G 11G 458G 3% /
/dev/sda1 976M 462M 448M 51% /boot
tmpfs 1.6G 0 1.6G 0% /run/user/1000
tmpfs 1.6G 0 1.6G 0% /run/user/1002
tmpfs 1.6G 0 1.6G 0% /run/user/48
tmpfs 1.6G 0 1.6G 0% /run/user/1001

I have run 2 backups with out any errors, It has collected 75000 log events and run the jobs without errors.

# lsblk -f
NAME FSTYPE LABEL UUID MOUNTPOINT

└─centos-swap swap 084c670b-2bbe-4a7a-9ef5-5021d67379d8 [SWAP]

Thank you for your assistance
Have a good afternoon
Regards

This doesn't seem like's it's a Log Server issue. It seems like is an LVM or disk management or Hypermanger issue. Not sure what we can do to help you with bad disk headers in a forum dedicated to Nagios Log Server software.
