PHP v8

Post by Christopheric1 »

Is there a document somewhere to changeover PHP v7.4 to PHP v8? I looked for a long time to no avail and wanted to get off of a version that is now unsecure.

Thanks!

Hello,

For users who wish to upgrade to PHP 8, we recommend upgrading to an OS that defaults to PHP 8, as it offers significant enhancements and compatibility. CentOS 9 is our suggested OS for Nagios XI, but note that XI must be at version 5.9 or greater to be compatible with CentOS 9.

Thanks for the response. I am on Debian 11 which is definitely capable, but it won't update to use PHP v8, it still defaults to v7.4 so I was curious if there was documentation on the process as every system behaves wildly different with this update. I am also on version 5.11.2 for Nagios XI.

Thanks,

Try following the procedure here if you want to use PHP 8 on older versions of Debian:
