False Alarms on NRPE Service Checks

Post by gregbeyer »

Hello this concerns Core ver. 4.4.9

Daily we get notifications of several NRPE check CRITICAL alerts from 2 -5 random hosts, for syslog, ssh and postfix. It's never the same hosts. When I check logs for any failures, stop or restart of syslog, ssh or postfix, I find nothing. What would be causing these false alarms, and how can I remedy this?

Thanks.

Second bump a month later. Really Nagios, no idea or suggestion? I really need to cut out these false alarms. I can't expect my people to take Nagios alerts seriously if it cries "wolf", and many times a day.
