Nagios License IP Change Process

Post by kenneth59 »

Hello Nagios Support Community,

I am reaching out to seek guidance regarding our Nagios license setup.

We currently have two Nagios servers in operation: one as our primary server and the other as a disaster recovery (DR) server. Each server has its own distinct IP address.

Our Nagios license is currently tied to the IP address of our primary server. In the event of a failure on the primary server, we plan to manually switch operations to our DR server. However, since our DR server operates on a different IP address, we anticipate needing to update the IP associated with our Nagios license.

Could you please provide insight into the process of changing the IP address linked to our Nagios license? Specifically, we're interested in understanding the typical timeframe involved in completing this task. How long does it generally take for the Nagios team to assist in shifting the license over to a new IP address?

Any information or guidance you can provide on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @kenneth59,

You will need to contact your Customer Success Manager to retire the old IP and allow the new IP to register on our system. You can contact them here: csm@nagios.com. Barring unforeseen circumstances, it should take less than a business day.

Let us know if you need anything else.

Thank you!
