notifications stopped for some reason

we have been using nagios for many years... notifications usually worked just fine. for some reason, they just stopped.
I go to admin/email settings and have it 'send a test email' and it works just fine. Even Exchange message trace shows it arrived
When I look the notifications that nagios sent (which does show it sent to all the correct people), nothign arrives) nothign arrives in the mailbox from nagios....even message trace shows nothing.



Any ideas why it suddenly stopped working as nothign has changed.
my version of nagios is: Installed Version: 5.11.3

How do you have the email settings configured? Can you check the mailer logs (The location will depend on how the system is configured to send mail) and see if anything is being sent? After we know how the email settings are configured, I can dive deeper into what to look for and where for you.
