Hard state in NOC View

Post by occ »

I have installed nagios fusion, in the section Netowork Opeation Center I see all the soft and hard alerts, how can I filter only the hard ones? I can't find any settings.

Hello @occ,

Thank you for reaching out!

While you cannot currently filter by state on the Network Operations Center (NOC) page, the Recent Alerts page does have the ability to filter said alerts by state.

Additionally, I did file a feature request for this behavior and when the enhancement is released, it will be tagged as [GL:FSN#100] in the CHANGELOG.

Hi ajcoil,
The problem is that recent alerts also display alerts that have returned and not just those currently active.
How much do you think [GL:FSN#100] will be raised? I really need this improvement.
Thanks so much
Fabio

Hello @occ,

Thanks again for reaching out!

What version of Fusion are you currently using? The recent alerts page should only contain currently active alerts, as they are refreshed each time Fusion polls a fused server.

Regarding when the feature request [GL:FSN#100] will be implemented, I unfortunately cannot provide a specific timeframe. I would recommend keeping an eye on the Fusion Changelog to see when it gets implemented.

Hi ajcoil,
My installed version is 2024R2, I checked the recent alerts, I have the filter set to state=critical and State type=Hard but I also see the alerts which are currently no longer active, is there some configuration that I need to set to display only currently active alerts?
Thanks a lot

Hello @occ,

Thank you for the version clarification!

There shouldn't be any additional configuration needed, as that data should be refreshed each time the server is polled.

You can see your polling interval by navigating to Servers -> Manage Fused Servers and selecting the edit option in the actions column of the desired server. By default, servers poll every 5 minutes so you might need to wait to see the updated data.

Also, what all are you fusing? That way I could get a better idea of the interactions that may be happening.

Thank you,
Aiden
