pnp4nagios high cpu usage.

Can someone explain to me why the perl process is consuming so much cpu? It does it for a small time ie:1-5sec, but none of my other processes do this.

Even though it only spikes for a few seconds, this is normal behavior when PNP4Nagios is handling multiple performance data submissions or generating graphs on demand.
