Any idea?

Post by Therroys »

Our entire Nagios XI infrastructure is configured to use UTC. However, we have several checks that can only be executed during specific times (Eastern Time). Although we can offset the timeperiods against UTC this is obviously a problem during Daylight Savings Time when that time fluctuates by an hour.
I understood we can define "Eastern timezone" under System settings but would like to understand if any improvement made on the latest XI version about Timezone option for timeperiods?

My suggestion would be to create a new time period (CCM / Alerting / Time Periods) that is limited to the allowable time for the check, in both EST and EDT. Then, when creating that check, use that time period in Check Settings tab / Check period.
