Nagios XI Event Log empty

Post by riahc3 »

Hello

Coworker came to me with a issue in Nagios XI and Im kinda stumped on the answer

The Nagios XI is on a external MySQL database. Seems to be all configured correctly. Ran repair database script, all OK. But when in Nagios XI I go to Event Log it is empty.

In Nagios Core, it is full of logs and working.

Whats wrong?

Hi @riah3,

If the database repair script didn't fix the issue, I would recommend running the repair_crashed_databases.sh script. This script was released in version 2024R1.2.2, so please let me know if you do not have access and I can provide it directly.

Let us know if you have any other questions or if this doesn't resolve your issue. The next step would likely be to open a case with support and provide a system profile for more accurate diagnosis.

After modifying it to run on the remote mysql server (as it, doesnt run if the Nagios XI and the mysql server are on different servers), I ran it (it did stuff) but still same thing. Nothing appears.

Have you looked at the Nagios XI logs for any error messages? They might give you a clue about why the event log is still empty!
