Apache Monitoring - Help Needed

Post by DileepKumar »

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to Nagios Core and wanted to monitor my Apache Services like

Busy process rate, Bytes per request, Bytes per second, Apache CPU usage, requests per second and any other services/checks if any

If possible, please provide any plugins that are suitable for the above checks and If possible please do provide/help with command and definitions (Atleast one command and service definition is appreciated) as i have tried some plugins but unable to define commands and service definitions

Thank You

For command and service definitions there are lots of each on your system that can be used as examples. Once you look at them a bit it gets easier.

You can get nagios xi and use wizards to set up monitoring, but the wizards make things very host specific and need massaging to be generic.
To use nagios in a sustainable way you need to learn templates, hostgroups, etc. not to mention how to make commands and services.
If you want others to define your monitoring, they'll want to be paid.

I am using Nagios Core because I cannot opt for Nagios XI, and coming to taking help from other members and paying them, Ofcourse, I will if they do for all the services required incluidng apache, tomcat, IIS, Jboss and Storage devices along with some Physical VMs. It's not a big deal but the perfect resource is missing who gives all these like others who gives data about only a particular domain
