Hello,
since an upgrade to one of the 2024R1.4 versions we have a lot of issues with dashboards: scaling is incorrect and loading is slow.
Knowing that the new version 2026R1 is all about dashboards, I think there were already some preparations in previous versions.
But we still have the issues in the new version.
When you add "hostgroup status overview" dashlets to a legacy dashboard, the spacing is different depending on the size of the group.
For example in this screenshot, the left one contains 23 hosts the right one 49.
If I want to make the font the same size I have to drag the right dashlet all the way down which causes the spacing between the blue "Hostgroup Status Overview" and the hostgroup name to grow.
I tried to find the dashlet in the new smart dashboards but I couldn't find it.
Is there an alternative for this one (exchange.nagios.com is currently down, so I couldn't search for it there).
Another issue we have with the smart dashboards is that some dashlets do not work or seem to be quite useless.
For example "Graph": I can't get this to work because of a component error. Also using the smart dashboard wizard (which is only available in the Neptune theme after 5 seconds after loading the dashboards) and choosing "specific host", the dashboard loads with a lot of component errors "P.replace is not a function.
So, still a lot of issues with dashboards in the new version if you ask me.
Kind regards,
Peter

Re: 2026R1 Dashboard issues
Hello,
What kind of host are you trying to monitor with the Graphs? Was there a configuration wizard you used to set it up?
Additionally, it would be helpful if you could verify if any other host works with the dashboard wizard or Graphs.
My assumption based on the error message is that it's not reading the performance data string correctly from the host/service since it may be formatted differently for this instance.
Thanks,
Jack

Re: 2026R1 Dashboard issues
Hello,
In the screenshot it was a windows 2022 test host and I now tested it as well for another 2025 windows host (CPU Usage), a RHEL9 Linux (sda diskspace) and a switch (bandwidth).
All resulted in the same error.
The performance graphs within the service status view still work and show data.
And with that I mean this one: But this shows again another issue: why is the legend so small compared to the 2024R1.4.4 version? Kind regards,
Peter

Re: 2026R1 Dashboard issues
Hi Peter,
Sorry to hear you are having issues with the new dashboards, we are working hard trying to get everything working for everyone.
Out of curiosity, are you using NRPE or NCPA as the client on hosts that are displaying the errors in the graph dashlets?

Thanks for the info Peter, it is very much appreciated.
Could you please also send us the OS version you are running XI on and the version of rrdtool installed?

We are running NagiosXI on Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 9.6 (Plow)
5.14.0-570.46.1.el9_6.x86_64
And this is the result when I list all rrdtool packages:

I created an issue for your spacing bug and the lack of a substitution in Smart Dashboards
Re: 2026R1 Dashboard issues
Hello all,
I can confirm Peter's issue with small performance graph legend. We are running Nagios XI 2026R1 on RHEL9.6.
