I updated Nagios XI 2026R1 to Nagios XI 2026R1.0.1 yesterday and I just noticed that when I view my Nagvis map I'm getting this error message.
"nagvis.MyFQDN server IP address could not be found." (I've replaced our internal domain with MyFQDN).
What's gone wrong and how do I fix this?
Nagvis Error "nagvis.MyFQDN server IP address could not be found."

Make sure nagvis.MyFQDN can be resolved.
Re: Nagvis Error "nagvis.MyFQDN server IP address could not be found."
Obviously "Nagvis" doesn't exist in our internal domain, so it won't resolve. We have never had a DNS entry pointing to Nagvis, are you saying that we need one to point at our Nagios XI server?KWGagel wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 2:24 pm I updated Nagios XI 2026R1 to Nagios XI 2026R1.0.1 yesterday and I just noticed that when I view my Nagvis map I'm getting this error message.

I'm not saying anything. Obviously, Nagios thinks it should be resolvable.

Hi @KWGagel,
Just for some clarity, are you navigating to NagVis via XI's UI? Your browser is giving you the error message?
Thanks, Emmett

@ekapsner,
Thanks... In Nagios XI's UI. It was working a couple of days ago but I don't recall checking it after the upgrade so I'm not exactly sure when and why it tanked. This is all I see now.

@KWGagel,
I am having a difficult time replicating this. Where specifically in XI's interface is this link?
The only link to NagVis from XI that I see is <XI's address>/nagvis. Does that URL work on your machine?
Thanks,
Emmett

Re: Nagvis Error "nagvis.MyFQDN server IP address could not be found."
Replacing /nagiosxi/ with /nagvis/ does bring me to the nagvis maps.
Maybe this is something with the Neptune dark theme. When I hover of the link I see this.

Re: Nagvis Error "nagvis.MyFQDN server IP address could not be found."
@KWGagel,
I was able to replicate the issue and it is a bug on our end. I can't promise any timeline for the release of the fix, but when it is fixed, there will be a corresponding line in the Changelog with the tag [GL:XI#2266].
For a temporary workaround, I would recommend bookmarking NagVis with the proper link of <XI's address>/nagvis.
Thanks,
Emmett
