Hi, is there any document for the above wizard? On Step 6, it asks for host groups, service groups and parent host. What is the purpose of the setup step?
Secondly, is it possible for me to run some command once received a trap message?
Thanks
Tom

Re: snmp trap monitoring wizard
There is a document roughly outlining this located here:
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ith_XI.pdf
Step 6 is for assigning Host groups Service groups and the Parent Host if you use any of these options you would select your choices from here. If you do not use host groups or service groups you can bypass this step.
As far as running a command when you receive a trap message are you asking if you can set up a event handler for said service and have it run something after receiving a certain result?

Re: snmp trap monitoring wizard
Thanks again, Scot,
(1) Do I necessary need to delcare its service or host groups? What's the effect of declaring or not declaring?
(2) Yes, I want to be able to run some service or event handler once receiving a trap from a host.
Looking forward for your reply.

1) no, this is optional
2) once you have added the service you can modify it to add event handlers in Configure -> CCM -> Services -> Modify -> Check Setting Tab -> Event handler
We have some documentation on how to setup event handlers below. It is a specific case but you should be able to adjust it to your needs.
