Network host configuration backup

Post by srrhd »

Hi,

I found a plugin written by SAJITHR that ask Cisco's equipment to copy their configuration to a TFTP server: check_cisco_conf_backup.

I read also in the NagiosXI2012 changelog that you have implemented an SSH client. Great ideas, i can't wait to see that.

I was wondering if it's possible to automaticaly copy the configuration into the Hosts' Notes Tab, which will then simplify a lot the replacement of an equipment and many other things.

I guess an INSERT statement should be enough but i forbid myself to touch the NagiosXI databases, so if you had a script that would do the job... ;)

Otherwise it could be interesting to add a functionnality allowing to attach a file to a host but as NagiosXI2012 is on arrival, i can't ask you new feature right now.

Thanks in advance.
Configuration:
Nagios XI 2014R2.5
manually upgraded on 64bits CentOS 6
with nothing extra, no gnome, no proxy, no SSL
Add-ons: Hypermap, Minemap, Ping Action, Traceroute Action, Network Replay, Graph Explorer, Latest Alert

Sorry this is quite a late reply, that's a neat idea, you can submit the feature request to:

http://tracker.nagios.com/

or for nagios Core
