Hi,
I have changed the password in the Core Config Manager, the session appeared to carry on fine but todate when trying to login as my user or nagiosadmin I cannot login. I have reset the nagiosadmin password with the script but I cannot get past the login screen please advise we are not now able to use nagios at all and are blind to any issues

Password Core Config Manager
Re: Password Core Config Manager
See if this does anything.

Also, try pressing shift + reload on your browser to clear your cache. It may be saving old authentication information.

Re: Password Core Config Manager
Hi The above does not resolve the issue, since changing the core config manager password none of the users are able to log in. Clearing the cache makes no diferance on any browser
Re: Password Core Config Manager
Ok, bear with me for a minute so I can clarify exactly where you're at. I tried to replicate your issue, but I'm unable to do so on this end.
The core config manager is a separate component from the regular Nagios XI login, and takes a separate authentication than XI. Did you reset this password for the Core Config Manager, or for the nagiosadmin user in XI? They are separate authentications, and can have different passwords.
I'll try and get this figured out for you today. In the meantime, see if you can log into nagios core, and nagiosql as their individual components.
http://<youraddress>/nagios/ - gets you into nagios core with the apache authentication
http://<youraddress>/nagiosql / - logs you into the raw nagiosql component. If you can log into this you can access all of the core config featues by adding the menu visibility like so:
http://<youraddress>/nagiosql/admin.php?menu=visible
If you can get into any of those that will narrow it down where the problem is.

Re: Password Core Config Manager
Hi,
The issue appears to be that the login to :-
http://<youraddress>/nagiosql is not accepting the password that it was changed to when logingin as nagiosadmin
Thanks

Re: Password Core Config Manager
Just to follow up then, are you and your staff able to login ok now, or is the web access still being denied for users?
Re: Password Core Config Manager
I find that the user name for nagiosql is "nagiosxi" and not nagiosadmin.

Re: Password Core Config Manager
To reset the password for the nagiosadmin user for the Core Config Manager, access the Reset Security Credentials page, and change the password under the Component Credentials. Note: This will not change your nagiosadmin password to login to XI, only the CCM.
To change your nagiosadmin password for XI, login to the XI interface as nagiosadmin, go the the Admin->Users->Manage Users page, and select the nagiosadmin user from the table to make changes to that password. This password can be the same or different from the CCM, they are separate authentications.
