Hi Guy's,
We are having some strange issues again continuing with my previous issues with notifications. It seems like if I now set a host in downtime the services dont get put into downtime. This definitely used to work this way. I am hoping we can have a look at this quickly and come up with a solution.
Cheers
Arnab
Setting host in downtime doesnt set the services in downtime
Re: Setting host in downtime doesnt set the services in down
To my knowledge, these are separate commands, and have always been separate commands. There's a core command to schedule a host in downtime, and it's a separate command to schedule all services for a host in downtime. If you access host details->See this host in Nagios Core, you can access the command to schedule all services for a host to be in downtime.
Re: Setting host in downtime doesnt set the services in down
These are separate commands but putting the host in downtime has always (previously) suppressed service notifications for that host.
In a planned maintenance scenario putting the host in downtime is easy, putting it's 35 services in downtime is not....
EDIT: To clarify, putting the host in downtime didn't put the services in ACTUAL downtime, (i.e. they don't show up in the downtime list and they don't get the downtime icon) but it suppresses the notifications to create an EFFECTIVE downtime for the services. So putting the host in downtime previously had the same effect as additionally putting the services in downtime.

CGraham, thanks for clarifying. That seems consistent with the logic of the "handled" verses "unhandled" problems in the UI as well.
Re: Setting host in downtime doesnt set the services in down
Ok would it be possible to expose the feature into standard xi as c graham mentioned its not easy to individually put all check in downtime ..
Re: Setting host in downtime doesnt set the services in down
Yes. We'll put it on the TODO for the next release.
