smtp mail help
Re: smtp mail help
An external gmail account may not have the rights to send mail via SMTP. Sending mail via gmail's web interface is not likely to score vary high on our todo list.
First check with Gmail support for instructions using there SMTP service. Then check your networking, we should have detailed instructions on how to do that for SMTP some where else on this forum.
Check the local email server's logs, likely there is an entry or two for the Nagios Server. Then configure the address listed as ably to relay through the mail server. Do this instead of authentication... you don't want Nagios alerts to be rejected because your authentication service isn't working.
