Extra host notes

In the XI version I can not see the red folder icon that is supposed to be there when an extra host note is added!

In the Core version this icon is visible.

XI implements notes a bit differently from Core. If you click on any host or service, you will see a Notes tab on the far right.

Maybe I'm blind, but no notes tab there ...

Tried it again but on a fresh install ... no Notes tab

Is it possible for you to include a screenshot where I can find the tab?

Sure. Note that this was added relatively recently, so if you're using an older version of XI you might not see it. Certainly anything in the 1.3 series should have it, and at least some of 1.2 I think.

Unfortunately its not there. We are running the latest Nagios XI 2009R1.3E, so following your comment, it should be there.

I have no idea as to where to look for the error.

I have the distinct idea this might be situated in status-object-detail.inc.php or in some other php include, for in the Core host cfg I can see the "notes"

Ha, I'm an idiot. This is actually an add-on component, not shipped by default - I just forgot installing it. You can get it from the Exchange. See also the component installation instructions (PDF).
