add on service monitoring

Post by cheritie »

I have configured windows server monitoring through wizard configuration which only contains ; ping, uptime, memory, cpu, disk usages.
There are a couple of services (.exe) and plug in to monitor.
Is there any way i could add on and monitor them?

Yes, you can monitor services and have them automatically restart if crashed by following the document below, if you would only like to monitor them you can skip setting up the event handler in the later portion, as far as "plug in" what do you mean? What else is it you are trying to monitor.

When i meant plug in, i meant there are only few options to choose from in order to monitor windows servers.
Few of our servers run critical application that needs to be monitored.
Is there a possibility to monitor those application separately?

Yes, wizards are meant as a good way to create a set of metrics from which to work off of when creating more. You can use any of the variety of monitoring agents/types and simply add them as services through the Core Config Manager and assign them to that host. If you pick one out or give me a better idea of what you would like to monitor I can help give overviews on how to set it up.

Most of the time, i like to manage server's log.
Right now, i only receive configured windows server event log.
I have downloaded plugins for check switch log and configured cisco switch through monitor wizard.
How could i set plug in properly with correct argument?

Can you elaborate on this? What plugin are you talking about? Download link? What have you tried so for in order to set it up? What exactly is the issue that you are having?
