I've manually updated membership of my hostgroups.cfg file and would like to import.
My previous attempts in placing hostgroups.cfg in /usr/local/nagios/etc/import have failed.
Please advise, how can I import my own hostgroups.cfg?
Import hostgroups.cfg
Re: Import hostgroups.cfg
The import utility is intended for core configs that have been converted by the import prep tool. If you are just editing your hostgroups, best practice is to do it in the interface. If you wish to do it through the import tool, you should use the following documents for the proper procedures:

Re: Import hostgroups.cfg
Use Abrist's suggestions if you are indeed importing this file from a previous Nagios core installation, otherwise it is generally recommended that these configuration files be changed from withing the Nagios XI Core Config Manager as it is the fastest, safest way of changing most configurations within Nagios.

Re: Import hostgroups.cfg
FYI - I changed my process becuase I was doing it wrong.
Instead of attempting to populate host-group-windows with all windows servers, I simply added host-group-windows to windows-host-template and viola!
thanks for the docs, they were also helpful.
