I have several office laptops that run a backup software at a scheduled time each day. However, most people take the laptop home, or they close the lid to turn it off. Obviously, most of them do not backup. My thoughts are this..
Create a seperate group in Nagios called "LAPTOPS";
Have this group NOT send out notifications if exe is not running;
have this group, when each user in the group; launch the backup via a script when they log in.
Has anyone thought of this or done this?

Nagios to Start Backups
Re: Nagios to Start Backups
That seems fine. The login script on the client system should start the backups. Keeping those hosts in a separate hostgroup is prudent to reduce false alerts.
