Is this the problem where (in 3.5.0 anyway) when the log rotate runs, if a service is in scheduled downtime, the nagios process dies?
I ran into this last week. I saw a reference to a patch to the downtime structure, but I don't know how to apply it to a working system.
Meanwhile, I've setup a cron job to start nagios at 0001 (right after the midnight log rotation) as a workaround.
